Lighthouse on the edge of a cliff in beautiful Santorini sounds like an ideal romantic setting for lovers.
But for solo travelers like me, this place can still be bewitching– without making you needy for another hand to hold on to ๐
Located on the southwestern tip of the island, the Akrotiri Lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouses in Greece. โ
โIt was built in 1892 by a French company. (I wish I knew more information about the history of this lighthouse though)
โThis place is ideal for both sunrise and sunset watching. I did not have much time when I traveled in Santorini so I only managed to visit Akrotiri during midday.
I just love the peaceful environment here. The comforting blue Aegean Sea and the powerful view from the cliffs make you relax and enjoy the silence here. โ
You can sit on the rocks, read a book, drink wine, watch the boats, and enjoyย the panoramic spectacle.
This is why I think solo travelers will love this paradise.
If you love taking photos, the rocks here can be your best friend. You can place it on top of your reliable surface and set it on timer mode ๐
Be sure to climb the nearby cliff to enjoy a different view of the lighthouse and castle.
Cheers! More adventures about my Eurotrip soon ๐
