Guam may be known for its beaches, but this place will forever have a special place in my heart because of… SHOPPING! Maybe I live in a country blessed with better beaches… or maybe I’m just your usual crazy lady who cannot resist shopping 😉

But seriously, in my opinion, Guam is the best place for shopping NEAR Southeast Asia. It’s just a few hours away from Southeast Asia and you could shop for American and European brands TAX-FREE.

If you’re planning to shop in Guam, here is a list of places to hear your shopaholic heart beating (and pockets crying):

Happy Guamama & I. Thanks to Tita Hermie and Madame Mary for accompanying us 😉

1. NEX (Navy Exchange), US Naval Base

It’s the cheapest place to buy souvenirs like chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, toys, electronics, appliances, laptops, bags, groceries, etc. Getting inside is the hardest part since you need an authorized patron to sponsor you a guest pass.

2. Ross Dress For Less – Guam Premium Outlets and Micronesia Mall

Who doesn’t love this American off-price department store? If you love searching for cheap branded products, this is the place to be. You can find almost everything here- perfumes, sunglasses, shoes, sandals, beddings, toys, home decors, active wear, drones, exercise equipment, dresses, blouses, bags, luggages, wallets, etc.

The Micronesia branch is more organized and less crowded and has more options for clothes and active wear. The one in GPO has longer queues but has better selection for bags and wallets. I suggest that you go to the Micronesia branch first. It’s also best to go here early, when they still have new stocks in the morning.

TIP: Always guard your cart especially if you have precious items with no more stock. Somebody stole my cart full of clothes and bags while I was shopping and it was such a hassle to look for the items again. I only left my cart for 10 minutes and it was already gone by the time I returned :(

3. GPO/ Guam Premium Outlets – Tamuning

Aside from Ross Dress For Less, there are also other shops in GPO. It’s like a mini-outlet store in the mainland. My favorites here are Naturalizer (price is cheaper by 70% compared to the Philippines), Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger (a polo shirt can cost less than 1000 pesos), and Famous Footwear.

TIP: Always sign up for discount cards before shopping. Calvin Klein and Naturalizer will give you extra discount if you have their special cards. For senior citizens, Tommy Hilfiger gives 10% discount for seniors. And if you’re nice to their employees (hello kababayans), they sometimes agree to use their employee discount 😉
There is a free shuttle service going to/from GPO. Be sure to check the schedule with your hotel.

4. T Galleria by DFS Guam – 1296 Pale San Vitores Road, Tumon, GU 96913, Guam

If you want to shop luxury brands, you can find almost everything in T Galleria. It has wider selection than the one in the airport (Lotte Duty Free). Goods can be really cheap during sale season.

TIP: Be sure to sign up for a DFS card to accumulate points. Points can be converted to USD.
There is also a free shuttle to/from T Galleria from/to selected hotels.

6. Lotte Duty Free – Guam Airport

If you still have time to kill before your flight, Lotte Duty Free will make you want to spend your last dollars for last minute shopping. I discovered that some brands can be cheaper here than in T Galleria (MAC, Bobbi Brown & Tumi for example). You can shop the usual cosmetics, bags, perfumes, liquor, tobacco, watches, jewelry and electronics here.
